Chinese food｜Nankinmachi: Kobe Chinatown（南京町：神戸チャイナタウン）

Established in 1868, Nankinmachi is rich in history and culture, as well as a Chinese food lovers paradise. It is located about 3 minutes walking distance south of the JR Motomachi station. Nankinmachi is a popular tourist destination for foreigners as well as for the locals living in the Kansai region. Kobe's Chinatown features more than 100 hundred restaurants and food stands which offer mouthwatering Chinese food; markets, and shops. The food stands line both sides of the street, and sell everything from Manju, Ramen, Tapioca, Butaman, Dandan noodles, Peking Duck Wrap, Gyoza, fruit on a stick, and much more. The food in Chinatown teaches us a lot about a countries food history and how that influences our eating habits. I particularly like the food stands because I can explore and try out the different types of Chinese food.
