Belle-Ville Pancake Cafe

Belle-Ville Pancake Cafe opened in Okamoto this year; replacing the Northshore Restaurant. The interior decorum did not change very much. Belle-Ville started in Osaka and has extended operations in other cities in Japan. The pancake craze has certainly gripped the Japanese palate on a national scale. I tried the millefeuille pancakes (which is French for thousand layers). I was amused when my order arrived and the pancake stack was leaning heavily to one side. The whipping cream on top of the pancakes was made from Hokkaido cream which really enhanced the flavor of the pancakes. Belle-Ville Cafe has many different types of pancakes to choose from. In addition to the pancakes, Belle-Ville makes savoury food items such as fried pork sandwiches that comes with a small salad, and two types of curry dishes. The service is somewhat slow, but well worth the wait.
