Isomaru Suisan: Seafood Galore!

Japan is very well known for seafood. Isomaru Suisan sets the high bar when it comes to fresh seafood at an excellent value. This restaurant is an izakaya or Japanese style bar. There are over 150 branches in Japan, and are open 24 hours a day seven days a week. The atmosphere is lively, colorful, and very casual. The interior looks like a beachfront house with signs, Japanese style lanterns, and flags mostly found on Japanese fishing boats.I enjoyed grilling some of the seafood on a small grill provided by the staff. I was very happy because the restaurant had an English menu which I could look at and order the seafood I wanted. I came to Isomaru Suisan with a hearty appetite, and left two hours later stuffed. I ate more than 10 dishes which included grilled scallops, sushi, sashimi, fish, shrimp, seafood salads, soup, and edamame. Of course I enjoyed several lemon chu-his with my meal.
